Referrals and Rebates

Although you do not need a referral from a GP/Paediatrician to make an appointment with us, please see below the different rebates and schemes that may be available to you and the different referrals required (where appropriate).

Medicare Rebates- Chronic Disease Management/ Enhanced Primary Care Plan
If you are looking to access Speech Pathology Intervention through the Chronic Disease Management (CDM)/ Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) you will need the appropriate referral form from your GP.

As part of this scheme, individuals with chronic conditions may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $52.95 (as of January, 2019) for up to 5 sessions per calendar year.

Helping Children with Autism
These rebates are available for children (under the age of 15) who are undergoing assessment or intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). For these rebates, a referral from a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is required.

As part of this scheme, children may be eligible for a rebate of $74.80 for up to 20 sessions during their lifetime (as of January, 2019).

Health Fund Rebates
If you have Extras cover included in your health fund, you may be entitled to a rebate through your health fund. For your convenience, we have a HICAPS machine within the clinic, which means your rebates can be processed on the spot and you may only need to pay the gap. Please contact your insurance provider to discuss whether Speech Pathology is included in your extras cover.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
We are not currently registered NDIS providers, however, we are able to provide intervention to those who are self-managed through the NDIS.
